When the time came for the Story's Yanmar 27 horsepower disel engine's initial start-up last December, a manufacturer's represenitive was not available to supervise, so Mack Borking asked one of its authorized sales and service centers to perform the task. The nearest available dealer was Winter Island Yacht Yard of Salem, owend and operated by Peter Haywood and his wife, Diane, Mack Boring & Pars of Braintree, Mass., the engine's donor, suggested it initially be started up unther the supervision of a factory represenitive to protect its warranty. The Engine was installed by shipwright Harold Burnham without a hitch, and its initial start-up when smoothly. During the boats' first trial run on the Essex River, it ran well and provided sufficient power. All were pleased with its performance.
